Every child is an individual who has his/her own rate of physical development and own pace of learning. Each child is accepted, loved, nurtured and taught as an individual with this thought in mind. Thus, throughout all we maintain that play enables children to progress through the developmental stages, from sensorimotor intelligence of infancy to the pre-operational thought of the early preschool years to the concrete operational thinking of the primary age children. The child is a feeling person with a mind and body growing in the context of his/her family, community, nation and world.
By providing a wide variety of multi-cultural, non-stereotypical materials and activities, we ensure the enhancement of each child’s self-concept and self-esteem. Such experiences support the integrity of the child’s family, extend the experiences of children towards others, and enriches the lives of all participants.
Parents have both the right and the responsibility to share in the decisions about their child’s care. Parents are encouraged to observe and participate. Communications between families and the center helps to build mutual understanding and maintains greater consistency throughout the daily life of the child.
